# Feds Want to Use DJ Akademiks Interview Where 6ix9ine & Wack 100 Pressed Durk on “Sliding for Von”

Federal prosecutors want to introduce a DJ Akademiks podcast interview in Lil Durk's murder for hire trial, according to a post from Akademiks describing the government's evidence plan. The interview featured 6ix9ine and Wack 100 criticizing Durk for allegedly failing to "slide for Von," a reference to retaliation after King Von's 2020 killing.

[Akademiks wrote on X](https://x.com/Akademiks/status/2089809178776961126), "Feds wanna introduce a interview on DJ Akademiks Off the Record podcast with 6ix9ine and Wack 100 where they attacked Durk for not 'sliding for von.'" He added that the government claims a cooperating witness will testify that Durk saw the interview and became upset by the public criticism.

That is a statement by Akademiks about the prosecution's position, not a finding by the court. Prosecutors would still need to show why the interview is relevant, authenticate the material they seek to play and connect Durk's alleged reaction to the charged conduct. The defense can object to the evidence and challenge the cooperating witness's credibility.

The case centers on an August 2022 shooting in Los Angeles that killed Saviay'a "Lul Pab" Robinson while Quando Rondo was believed to be the target. The [Justice Department's indictment announcement](https://www.justice.gov/usao-cdca/pr/chicago-rapper-lil-durk-charged-superseding-indictment-alleging-murder-hire-plot-kill-rival) says prosecutors allege the attack was carried out in retaliation for King Von's death.

The podcast evidence would matter to the government because it could help build a timeline around motive and pressure. If a witness testifies that Durk watched the exchange and reacted to it, prosecutors may argue that the public challenge affected later decisions. That argument remains disputed, and Durk has pleaded not guilty.

HotNewHipHop separately reported that prosecutors believe Durk made incriminating statements during an Akademiks interview. The report adds to a wider evidentiary fight that includes messages, videos, music and witness testimony. Each category of evidence carries a different question about context, prejudice and what a jury may reasonably infer.

Akademiks's full source post is embedded above. The key distinction is legal: prosecutors may seek to use the interview, but its admission and weight are separate issues. Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald will decide whether the challenged material reaches the jury, and jurors will decide what it proves if admitted.

The government has not secured a conviction against Durk in this case. Any statement by 6ix9ine, Wack 100, Akademiks or a cooperating witness must be presented as attributed testimony or commentary, then tested through objections and cross examination under federal trial rules.
