Katt Williams, a well-known comedian and actor, received a big honor in his hometown of Cincinnati on April 19, 2025. A street in the Avondale neighborhood, where he grew up, now carries the name “Katt Williams Way” to celebrate his amazing career and his deep connection to the community.
The special ceremony happened at the corner of Reading Road and Maple Avenue, a spot that means a lot to Williams because it’s where he spent part of his childhood. Cincinnati’s Vice Mayor, Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney, showed up to support him and represent the city. Community leaders gave speeches, and then Williams talked to the crowd. After that, they unveiled the new honorary street sign, and everyone cheered.
The street’s official name is still Reading Road, but the “Katt Williams Way” sign is a special tribute to him. This isn’t the first time Cincinnati has celebrated Williams. Back in 2023, the city named April 27 “Katt Williams Day.” The Cincinnati City Council made this latest honor official earlier in 2025, thanks to Vice Mayor Kearney’s work to recognize local stars.
Katt Williams has been making people laugh for more than 20 years. He kicked off his comedy career in Cincinnati and has grown into a huge star. He’s won an Emmy award and starred in movies like Friday After Next and Scary Movie V. His latest comedy special, *Woke Foke*, blew up on Netflix in 2024, with over 13 million people watching it.
Even with all his fame, Williams stays true to his roots. He grew up in Avondale and started performing in Cincinnati’s local clubs. This street naming is the city’s way of saying “thank you” for putting them on the map and showing how proud they are of him.
On the same day as the ceremony, Williams performed at the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati as part of his “Heaven on Earth” tour. It turned into a full day of celebration for him and his fans.
