King Combs, the rapper and son of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, released his new EP Never Stop on June 27, 2025. The release comes amid his father’s significant legal drama, one of the most high-profile court cases in the hip-hop community. The seven-track project, produced in collaboration with Kanye West, is defined by trap beats and raw emotion, with a runtime of just over 16 minutes. It includes tracks such as “Diddy Free,” where King Combs expresses support for his father, and “Kim,” a tribute to his late mother, Kim Porter.
The EP’s release coincides with major developments in the elder Combs’ legal battles. Diddy is facing serious legal consequences after recently being found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution. Each count carries a potential 10-year prison sentence, and prosecutors are reportedly seeking the maximum of 20 years. While he was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges, he remains in custody at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. On July 1, 2025, a federal judge denied his most recent request for bail, citing him as a flight risk ahead of sentencing. On the same day the EP was released, a new lawsuit was filed accusing Diddy and his son Justin Combs of a 2017 rape, allegations both have denied. This adds to more than 100 lawsuits filed against Diddy, including a notable case with singer Cassie Ventura that was settled in 2023.
Despite the surrounding controversy, Christian Casey Combs, known professionally as King Combs, continues to advance his music career. He launched his career in 2017 with the track “Type Different” and subsequently signed with his father’s label, Bad Boy Records. His 2019 EP Cyncerely, C3 featured collaborations with artists like City Girls. In 2022, his song “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” with Kodak Black reached number one on the Urban Radio chart and earned a BET Awards nomination for Best Collaboration in 2023. Never Stop, now available on Tidal and Apple Music, includes features from Kanye West, North West, and others. A standout track, “People Like Me,” samples the 1983 film Scarface and serves as a statement on his ambition and family loyalty.
However, King Combs has also faced his own public scrutiny. In April 2024, he was named in a sexual assault lawsuit concerning an alleged incident on a yacht in 2022. His attorney has strongly refuted the allegations, calling them baseless, but the case has drawn comparisons to his father’s legal issues. Throughout the ordeal, King Combs has remained publicly loyal, taking over his father’s Instagram account in November 2024 to post family videos and releasing the diss track “Pick A Side” last year to respond to critics like 50 Cent. While some fans applaud his perseverance and artistic growth, others suggest he is relying heavily on his father’s legacy.
With the release of Never Stop, King Combs is working to establish his own voice in the music industry, even as the shadow of his father’s legal situation continues to grow.
