Drake is closing in on the biggest promise of his streaming year. Pinkchyu, the goth creator who won his viral 20 on 1 dating stream back in August, says a house for her mother has been found and the purchase is now being finalized. The update came during a sidewalk catch up with TMZ that has since made the rounds on X.
The saga started on Aug. 8, when the rapper ran a NELK produced speed dating stream on Kick with 20 women competing for his attention. Pinkchyu, a 24 year old cosplayer and adult content creator whose real name is Lin Lamar, walked away with the win after getting Drake to bark on command, a clip that pulled hundreds of millions of views across platforms. When Drake offered her any prize she wanted, she skipped bags and jewelry and asked for a home for her retired mother.
Her mother found out on camera. Rolling Stone reported that Pinkchyu shared the moment on Instagram, telling her mom the first thing that came to mind was everything she had done for her daughters, and that Drake was going to buy her a house. The clip of her mother breaking down spread just as fast as the barking video.
Months later, the follow through is real. TMZ pressed her on the deal this week and she kept it short. “It’s in the works, I’m excited,” she said. She went deeper with her reasoning in the same stop. “I’m Latina, my family’s Mexican and that was the first thing that came to mind, so she can retire. I think everyone wants that for their family.” Billboard notes she even hinted at the finish line, saying they think they found one and the purchase is getting situated.
The dating question got a different treatment. Asked point blank whether she and Drake are officially together, Pinkchyu giggled and pointed at her two friends standing beside her. “They know and are telling me not to say anything, OK.” Contactmusic captured the exchange, including the moment one friend nearly spilled details and Pinkchyu shut it down with a quick “No, no, no, no!”
The two have kept busy together either way. In August, Drake flew her to Toronto and rented out Casa Loma, the 98 room Gothic Revival landmark, for a private sushi dinner with only a server, bartender and security on site. She later appeared in his FOMO short film, which doubled as a music video and featured a Hot Topic shopping date plus a rented out Medieval Times. Her verdict on the whole experience was simple. “I felt like a princess. I actually felt like a princess.”
Generous streaks from rappers have become their own genre this year. NBA YoungBoy bought his security guard a home in a similar show of loyalty, and streamers have joined in, with PlaqueBoyMax gifting a bullied kid $7,500 in clothes at a trampoline park. The Drake promise stands a notch above those simply because of the price tag attached and the person making it.
Drake has the budget for it. He released three albums in May, with ICEMAN topping the Billboard 200 and HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR landing at two and three. His FOMO footage also showed his Strong Women, Stronger Drinks event in Toronto, where women in attendance received cash prizes along with luxury cars ranging from BMWs to new G Wagons.
For now, no closing date has been made public and Pinkchyu has not named the property. She has also been consistent on one boundary from the start. Despite the chemistry that played out on camera, she says she and Drake never hooked up after the show, and her friends are keeping the relationship question locked down. The house, at least, speaks for itself. Her mother gets to retire into it whenever the paperwork clears. All because her daughter asked for the one prize nobody expected.
