The proof came in the form of a banking app screenshot showing a balance of exactly $100,110.00, tagged with Drench’s handle and posted by the mixtape platform MyMixtapez. DailyLoud’s repost pushed it in front of millions more. Drench, also known as NoLimit Wet, is part of the same Chicago circle G Herbo grew up in, and the two share a catalog, including the track “No Limit” credited to both names, a partnership that echoes other prison homecomings the genre has celebrated this year.
The internet fixed on the $110. “He ain’t slick, he had $110 this morning,” one X user wrote, riffing that the round figure had been sitting in the account before the wire landed. Another asked whether the extra cash was for bank charges, because ten grand would have trended on its own. The spare hundred and ten made it comedy. Nobody questioned the math, though.
The gift lands as Drench restarts his life after incarceration, and G Herbo has a track record of putting money where his city is. Earlier this year he publicly challenged DJ Akademiks and DJ Vlad to each donate $100,000 to Chicago youth programs, a call he framed around the two media figures profiting from coverage of the city’s violence. That challenge, documented by Complex, never got a public answer from either name.
Chicago has been responding to the gesture the way it does best, with equal parts love and jokes, and the love is winning. Streamers of NLMB loyalty filled comment sections with welcome home messages for Drench, plenty of them pointing out that coming home to six figures beats any welcome back party a venue could throw.
